Just an update

We have been so busy. Last week was spring break for Chris so we did a little of everything. His first day off we planted our garden and cleaned the back yard (which was pointless cause the next day the wind blew and it was covered in leaves again).

Sunday we did not work since of course it is the sabbath, but we did go to church. It was Pi day so I made some tasty pies and took them to one of the ladies I visit and teach.

Monday we had Martha Stewart Day as my elderly neighbor so lovingly calls it. Louie our neighbor came out in the front yard and told us the proper way to care for the yard. He has a special connection to it. The man who lived here before us just recently moved to a retirement home but was Louie's best friend and they used to work on their yard's together. We are grateful for the help. And since Louie's wife just passed away we try to give him plenty to do. He repaired our water hose, taught Benny how to use the pecan picker tool, and introduced us to the garden guru of the street Loretta ( also a retired octogenarian). While Chris and I were cleaning Benjamin decided to take a brake and watch some Lord of the Rings. He said "Hey dad will you watch this with me." Chris replied, "Sorry Mommy won't let me. She is making me clean". Benny says "Well you could just leave without asking".

Tuesday we left for our trip to Louisiana to visit my cousin Paul and his wife and kids. We made it to Tyler and stayed with Pam and John and left Wednesday for Louisiana. We had a blast laughing and hanging out with the Fergusons. Paul and Chris have the same kind of humor so they kept us entertained. While me and Jenny enjoyed watching Law & Order SVU while the kids played outside on their covered patio until they dropped. We have decided that we probably shouldn't go to New York on a Tuesday cause that is when everyone seems to get raped. We left on Friday and headed back to Tyler to spend some time with my nieces and nephew. I haven't seen them in a year and Benny and Nicholas are only three months apart. They were best friends all over again. They got into a little fight once and I told them not to fight they were cousins and they were supposed to love each other. The next day, I heard them fighting about something else, but as I was going in to work it out I heard Nicholas say, "Remember what your mom said Benny, we are supposed to love each other". They hugged and went back to playing. So they must listen sometimes.

Sunday we headed home two children short. Benjamin and Caleb decided to stay with Grandma Bamburg for the week. Joshua is really enjoying his one on one time with me and Chris. He has been playing with all the toys with out getting them snatched away. But Benny told me on the phone last night that he misses his baby's smile. I think Joshua will be glad to see them too on Friday. I know I will. It is too quiet around here. I have enjoyed the brake though. It is really easy keeping the house clean with only one child. And going to the grocery store and Target is actually fun. I get to go to the library tomorrow and actually go up the elevator. I hear there is a whole other library up there just for grown-ups. I am starting to forget why I never get anything done. Today I was actually thinking that I was going to pull out the kid games and play with Benny when they get back since I have all this extra time. Oh wait...all that extra time...okay maybe I will have to take on Hannah's theory and let the house go again. All joking aside I really miss those two crazies. They make my days interesting and my nights worth it.

So technically I got a two week spring break and Chris went back to studying from dawn till dusk. Who in the world would trade being a SAHM for a cash paying job.
