February

First things first. So I love February. Not only is it my Birthday on the eleventh, but it is Valentines Day and it is only twenty-eight days. Which totally works with my OCD. It is exactly four weeks long. I have a very busy month coming up. I am glad to say that my mom will be here from the first till the 22nd. We have lots of fun stuff planned. I am also getting a visit from my friend Tia, yeah! I have missed her so much. Hopefully we will find plent of time to relax and let benny and Anna play. Most importantly we find out where Chris will be attending Med school this Fall. The match is this Friday at midnight. As you know he was accepted to A&M in November on an early invite, but now it is time for the final match. Basically he takes all the schools he got interviews with and puts them in order of his preference and the highest one on the list that accepts him is where he will be matched. Well after a lot of prayers and phone calls to doctor's he knows. He decided that the only school he wanted to put above A&M was Southwestern which is in Dallas. This did not come easy because durng his visit to Houston he was really impressed and loved the school. It is a very well known school and most pre med students dream of being accepted there. I have to brag on my sweetie though because he decided that Houston was not where he wanted his family living. He felt it wouldn't be a very good situation with the commute he would have to make every day in order to see us and spend time with his kids. So we are waiting to find out will we live in Dallas or Temple Texas for the next four years.

I need to make a correction to my last post. I have been informed that Teddy Roosevelt also did not swear in on Bible. I did the research and this is correct. Thank you Kerri- Anne. I guess I should have been a little more discriptive in my last post. I wasn't necessarilly trying to just bash on Obama. I simply was making some observations that have made me think about our governments future. I personally feel that church and state should be seperate to an extent and agree with Teddy Roosevelts reasoning for not swearing in on the good book. To what extent I don't know. i still fell we should not remove In God We Trust from our currency. I also strongly support prayer in school and at Government functions. As far as there being any harm in swearing in not swearing on the Bible. That doesn't really matter. I mean it really is just a dumb tradition. Seriously does the Bible have any mystical power that will strike somebody if they lie after swearing on the Bible. No. Does God punishes you more severely if you lie after swearing on the Bible. No. I simply thought it was interesting and would like to knw why one wasn't used. Was it simply just not thought of or did he purposfully leave it out. We may never know. But so far I have o say he is sounding alot like George Bush and less like the Messiah that was making promises to all the Liberals before his election.

Making History

Here are two historical events that took place on Inauguration Day that most people haven't noticed.
First off Obama is the first president to reference Atheist in his inaugural address.
Second, Notice that in the redo of his swearing in there is no Bible. He never put his hand on the Bible...Hmmm

Birthing details not for the weak of stomach

So some of my friends have been curious about the details of this birth. So to save me from retelling the story to everyone, here goes. If you don't like female words don't read. So at 5:30 a.m. on Jan 7 I got up to go to the bathroom and leaked a little. I thought to myself huh! I haven't peed on myself this whole pregnancy. So I changed my clothes and sat down at the computer to look up signs of your water breaking. When I got up to follow the steps they told me to do on WebMD I leaked again, so I woke up Chris and luckily my brother had stayed the night so we went to the hospital. And sure enough it busted all over everywhere. Grossest feeling ever. I talked to my doctor on the phone about how he felt about my trying to have this one vaginally. He said since I had a C-section with the last one that he would only let me labor for six hours and if I hadn't progressed enough that he strongly recommended a C-section. So we watched T.V. for about six hours and I was still only at a four. I had had a lot of really hard contractions but they just weren't doing anything. So we started prepping for surgery. My doctor was chewing at the bit and wanted to get me going. So thirty minutes later I was in surgery being sliced open. Luckily I had the same Nurse Anesthetist Paul I had with Caleb. He was great. He made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. I know what your thinking, duh you were numbed from the chest down. But it was more the way he talked to me and knew exactly what I should feel and how long. He told me everything the doctor's were doing and why. Chris stood by my side and got to watch the whole thing. With Caleb I had been too scared to let his hand go so he didn't get to see anything. But since I knew Paul I was comfortable enough to let him go. He got to see all my fun organs. As they were pulling Joshua out the doctors commented that this was a wise decision cause he was a big boy with wide shoulders. After words Chris left with the little guy to the nursery and I had a very enjoyable conversation with my doctors while they sowed me up. Then I stayed in the hospital for three days to recover and enjoyed every minute. the food was good. The nurses were helpful and kind, and the girls in the nursery fell in love with Joshua. they said he was the sweetest baby in there. But I missed my boys so I was glad to go home on Saturday. Now I am having fun trying to figure out creative ways to clean my house with out bending and lifting. Needless to say I take lots of naps and the dust bunnies are having a field day, but me and Benny are having fun playing games and reading books and watching cartoons. I think that even though the recovery is a little longer, C-sections are the way to go. They get a bad rap but if you had the problems I had with my vaginal delivery with Benny and had babies with shoulders like mine you would think the recovery from a C-section was much easier.

More of the Justice League

Maybe it is the postpartum hormones but I have been taking so many pictures. I don't want to miss a second. Having Joshua has made me realize how fast my babies are growing up. So here are more pictures of the crazy men in my life.

First off here is my Nurse for the week. My mother was unable to make it due to health issues, so my baby brother Isaiah stepped up to the challenge. Let me tell you how much I appreciate him.. He has done a super job. He has cooked breakfast for the boys and helped with my house work. He loads the kids in the car seats for me and even changed some really bad diapers. Most of all he has been great company. I tend to get a little blue for about a week after my babies are born and he has been here to keep me entertained while Chris is busy with school and work. I have to say that I think i have enjoyed having him to having one of the moms come simply cause he just does what I tell him no questions asked instead of giving motherly advice, which as we all no, no mother can resist giving advice. He is really great with my boys and even Caleb has started saying yeaya which I can only translate to Isaiah. which brings his total vocabulary to Mama, Dada and Yeaya. Unfortunately I had to let him go cause he needs to find employment so I am on my own next week, but I don't think he'll be able to stay away long.

Joshua Eyring " Superman" Lee

Yes Yes! I know my last email said his name was Noah, but the more we got to know the little guy, it just didn't seem to fit. So Joshua Eyring is what we decided and it seems to suit him. Benjamin calls him Superman though. He answers to either. Sorry I can't right more, I am still exhausted.



In other news Benjamin has started Primary. The first week he was a little scared, but this week he had a lot of fun and actually sang some songs for us. He was asked to be the reverence child for next week. What a big boy.



Caleb also started nursery and took right to playing with toys and eating snacks. What could be better.

A Very Batman Christmas

This Christmas had to be one of the best Christmas's I have ever had. I think mostly because Chris and I were really excited about our gifts for the boys. As you know Benny is really into super heroes right now. Well in October my mom sent me this Fisher Price toy catalog. Benny looked at that catalog until it was in shred. Inside it was a Bat Cave that came with Batman and Robin. He knew immediately that was what he wanted from Santa. We took him to a few different stores and showed him lots of toys, but he always found the Bat Cave and got stuck there. Since Caleb is at the age where he pretty much follows Benny around and wants to play with whatever he has, we decided to make it a combined gift since it was a little pricey.

So we bought some villains and extra super heroes to go with it.

Let me just tell you how good it feels as a parent when you are successful at buying that one perfect gift. He has not stopped playing with it since Christmas day. Poor Caleb though is forced to be the villain all the time. We have to make Benny let him be Batman or Robin. They are so cute playing together. We also got some great gifts from the Grandparents. We got some portable DVD players for the car. These will come in real handy on our trip too Texas this spring. The boys got some fun gifts from Uncle Patrick too.

Chris also did an excellent job picking out my Christmas present. We had a really small budget for gifts for each other but he spent it well. Overall we just really enjoyed having time to spend with Chris and especially his helping mommy with all the house work and cooking. I think I am going to be grumpy these last two weeks before the baby comes after he starts school. He has really been spoiling me.
We are so grateful for the Saviors sacrifice and for all the blessings in our life. We hope that everyone of you had a very Merry Christmas and were able to feel our Saviors love during this special time of year.
As for the new little baby, my doctor has scheduled my C-section for January 20th. I don't think I will make it that far since both my other babies came eight days early. None the less it is exciting to have the date booked so we can make sure we are all ready.
Today for our New Year's resolution we decided to dejunk our house. Our goal was to fill the back of the car with stuff we did not need. I am happy to say that tomorrow DI will be getting a nice full car of donations. We celebrated the New Year with friends and had a great time eating and playing games. I know this year is going to be a good one for our family. After all life is what you make it and we are satisfied just being together. Happy New Year to all our friends and family.
