Thanksgiving

I am going to try something crazy this month and write something I am thankful for everyday. Sorry if you get this as an email cause you are going to get tired of me. We will see how I do. Today I am thankful for candy. It is a nice replacement for studying husbands if you eat it in moderation (which I do not). I am thankful for this song cause my honey sounds so good singing it. I thought it was him on the recording he got to help him learn it and if your wife gets confused it must mean you sound good (or your wife is ton deaf). It is the first one on my play list. Not the second one. All though I still crack up every time I hear Adam Sandler sing this. Anyway,please post what you guys are thankful for in my comment section.

Pumpkin Patch, a Cake, and a Remodel

Two weekends ago we went to Tyler for Chris's brother's Open House. It was a quick trip since Chris was barely getting out of a test when we had to leave Friday night and then he had to be back Monday but it was fun. I made a cake for Cassie and Patrick with her wedding colors. It wasn't for the Open House or anything, just for fun.


The next day we had family pictures and went to a Pumpkin Patch ran by some people in our church. It was a lot of fun. I wish we had gone earlier and had more time. There is so much there for the kids to do. They had a lot of fun riding the train made out of food storage jugs. Then they raced there rubber duckies down these water canals where they had to pump the water. They had face painting and a hay ride. Not to mention the three play sets to play on. The kids were in heaven. The pictures came out kinda blurry cause it was that weird hour in the evening.






This last part is strictly for my sister. My mom recently had a remodel done to her Kitchen/dinning area/sun porch and since she is not computer savvy, I took some shots for my sister to see. She had the wall between her dinning and Sun Porch ripped out. Making it one big great room. She also ripped out the counters that stretched above her breakfast bar and added some lighting making it seem a lot more open. She replaced her fluorescent lights with can lighting. Then she made her island a lot bigger and added a cabinet for her trash can. She also added crown molding around the top and wood paneling around the walls and painted it yellow. I absolutely love it, but I am afraid she is not going to ever want to move now.

Fall Festival

Well it is final, I am the world's best chili cook in the world!!...well atleast Temple 1st Ward.

And this lovely Fall apron and ladle holder were my prize. I love when prizes are something useful. I was just contemplating making myself an apron, but now because of my extraordinary cooking skills I saved myself the pain and suffering.

We also had the cutest little monsters there.



We were in a bit of a hurry tonight so maybe next weekend the bandaging on Caleb's costume will be a little better. I was totally surprised that he let Chris wrap his head like that and he cried tonight when we had to take it off. Benny on the other hand had to be talked into wearing his costume again this year. He got very concerned when I mentioned baby powdering his hair and said everyone would think he was a DUFUS. I swear I have no idea where he heard the word dufus... okay maybe I do. Anyway I told him that if he didn't whiten his face and powder his hair then he would look like a dufus. He said no I will have my ghost sheet on mommy. I said then you'll just look like a dufus wearing a white sheet. He thought about it a bit and decided he better let me powder his face and hair. What a kid. He was running around going Boo to everyone all night. Now I know that some will think this is cruel but I will be painting the babies face to next weekend. I know I am mean but it is painful to be beautiful...I mean scary. Happy Haunting!!

Fun with Friends

It has been raining Cats and Dogs here so we have missed playgroup like two weeks in a row. When it was still raining Tuesday morning I called all the moms and invited them over to decorate Halloween cookies with us. It was a lot of fun and my kids got the outlet they needed from being couped up for so long.



I thought Benny did a really good job drawing a Jack-O-Lantern face on this one. If he had of frosted it orange first it would have been perfect.

I finally found my memory card (under the rug). Here are some better pictures of the fun we have had with our food. I am trying to relax and not be a perfectionist, so you can tell Benny gave me a hand.

Ghost Toast
It is really fun and surprisingly it has helped them try new things. Every day they ask what we are having for lunch. They usually complain because they have to stop playing and eat. Who knows we may keep making some of these if it keeps them eating. Benny has also started coming up with reasons why I should let him be Batman again this year. The other day he wanted a treat and I asked him what he had done to deserve a treat and he replied. "Well I am going as a ghost because you want me to." What can a mom say to that. I know you are probably thinking I should let him be what ever he wants, but I refuse to make another Super hero suit and they are too expensive. A ghost costume is easy and cheap. So instead I have started brain washing him with Casper cartoons and friendly ghost stories. In the last three days I have not heard anything about Batman. So maybe it is working.

My Cake Final

Well I finished my second cake decorating class. Now I am on to Fondant and Gum Paste. Here is my final project. The Basket weave is harder than it looks cause you have to keep a rhythm, but once you get going it isn't so bad. It didn't turn out quite the way I imagined cause I ran out of frosting, but oh well practice makes perfect.

Okay so maybe no one cares but. I lost my cord thingy that I use to transfer pictures from my camera to my computer, so until I find it or replace it I can't download all the cute things me and the kids have done for Halloween. I got most of my ideas from Familyfun.com. It is nice and rainy today so we are busting out the Harry Potter marathon. Tomorrow is library day and I am hoping I can find some spooky shows for the kids. It has been raining a lot here so we have busted out the blankets and kitchen chairs and made forts for telling spooky stories. Benny always makes me go first, and then he follows up with a similar rendition of mine only replaces the ghost with The Joker or something. It is pretty cute to hear him try to change it up a bit. Since I have been making a big deal about Halloween, at night time when I ask him what song he wants me to sing he usually picks "I Am A Child Of God"; but the last few nights he has asked for a Halloween song. That is really fun try and make up. If anyone knows some cute ones I would really appreciate it.

Hey everyone, one of my friends from Provo who now live in New York oversee the volunteer work for an orphanage for persons with disabilities in El Salvador. This year they have put together a beautiful calendar. All the proceeds go the this orphanage. Since I know Rachel personally I can vouch that this is true. It is such an inspiration all the things they do for these children. I hope you will consider purchasing one of these calendars. They are $15 dollars each or $50 for four.
