Lots of Thanks

I am thankful for my In-Laws who hosted Thanksgiving and made it such a nice cozy dinner. We had fun eating and playing Uno. Chris makes a killer turkey. Chris and I don't really even care for turkey that much , but if I did this would have been the best one I ever had. Also as we were driving to Tyler we passed a store right outside of Corsicana that was covered in signs "World Famous Pecan Pie". So I decided instead of making one we would give it a try and it was excellent; the best Pecan Pie I have ever had. So next year I know where to stop.
I am also thankful that my mom and Pam went Black Friday shopping with me. I have been so blue this month. Usually that is the day me and Hannah look forward to all year. We ditch our kids and stay out all morning and afternoon and get the good deals. Since, obviously I am to far away to go with my Sis, my mom and Pam volunteered. Well Pam actually came through and got up at five with me. My mom was a slacker and met us about eight. But it was still a lot of fun. I got all the things I wanted for the kids plus some other stuff I thought I needed. And get this I did not have to wait in the three hour lines. Nope that's right I came back to the stores after one and still found what I needed for the same sale price. The only store I hit before one and actually purchased something was Toys R Us and the lines were rather short. Anyway, Black Friday was a success.
I am thankful that God Blessed the Cougars! That's right U fans God LOVES BYU More, you classless bunch of beer throwers. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Lori Leigh Photography

I am thankful for good photographers. This session was so fun and stress free. There was no posed shots or worry if everyone was smiling. We just went to the train depot and had fun playing around while she took photos. Well me and Chris would pose a little but the kids just kinda did their thing. I hope all our photos sessions are this fun. Plus we got a nice discounted price since her husband is a resident and she's been there. Will definitely call her when it is family picture time again. I tried to pick just a few but there were so many cute shots of the kids. I guess it helps to have naturally adorable kids.

Okay I am getting bad

and it is only going to get worse when next week rolls around. I have missed four thankful days.
First, I am thankful that my laziness has given me the time to comment enough on Chelsea's blog to win her contest. I can't wait for my package. I love homemade things, especially Christmas.
Second, I am thankful for my home that keeps me warm and dry when it starts getting cold out. I love the winter cause it is so fun to snuggle and read.
Third, I am thankful for my health. I am over weight and need to work on that a lot more than I am able, but over all I am pretty healthy. I do not get colds and flus very easily and usually am able to keep from getting what my kids get. Thank you immune system.
Last, I am thankful that the anti- Christ(Oprah) is ending her show. I know what you are thinking she does have a lot of good shows but then she likes to squeeze in those ones pushing her views and some are a little sketchy. So hopefully no more young girls will be falsely influenced. Sorry Kanye she won't be having you perform anymore guess you'll have to crash some more awards shows. Sorry Louisiana Governor you won't be able to blame the President on Live T.V. for your shotty work in getting people out before Katrina. Farewell Oprah I will miss the opportunities of pulling my hair out over your so discretely made racist remarks.

Charlie Pie Lee

Just realized I missed three days of thankfulness. Well I was thankful those three days I just didn't post. So here goes:
I am thankful for the cool weather that has blown in.
I am thankful for my kids who keep me going and bring joy to my life everyday. They will never know how much influence they have had on my life and the way I look at my future. I can't imagine eternity without them. They are the best part of my days and nights.
Last I am thankful for my new puppy Charlie. He is a Mini Piebald Dachshund and my new security system. Since Lucy got too big for the house and is now outside I have felt a little insecure with Chris being gone so late all the time. So we got an alarm, an extra cute one. He is an early Christmas present for my boys too. Lucy (if anyone wants to hear the story call me) is actually Chris's dog and too big for the boys so we went smaller. He is so fun to play with and I think when the boys get home from Grandma's they are going to fall for him as quick as we did (Even Chris has fallen for the little frufru dog as he calls him).

You can tell me I'm nuts later.

Friday the 13th

I am always thankful for Friday the 13ths. It gives me an extra day to celebrate Halloween stuff. We watch scary movies and tell ghost stories. And what ever other mischief we can find.

Grandmas

I am thankful for Mothers. They always know just what you need. My mother volunteered to keep my oldest two boys this week and she could not have picked a better time. I am missing them desperately but it is always nice to have a break once in a while. I have so many projects that I have been wanting to catch up on and with just the baby it is amazing all the time I have on hand. I am actually a little bored, but I know the kids are having a blast. Thanks Mom your the best.

My Husband

Sorry guys, but after the week I had I have to brag on my sweet husband. I just spent a few days with some men I truly love but they have made some very wrong choices in their lives and are continuing down that path. I am so grateful that my husband gets up every day and works hard on his education so he can provide for me and my kids. He goes to school with holes in his socks and comes home to beans and rice for dinner without complaint. Yeah, we could have it worse and I know there are people who do. But I know that it is because of his dedication to me and his kids and the gospel that we have the things we do. We aren't perfect but I am thankful that every day he tries a little harder to be perfect.

Hulu

I am thankful for HULU. I know it sounds like I am a T.V. addict, but I am really not. Chris and I rarely watch shows during the day. We always wait till the kids go to bed and curl up together with his laptop. It is my favorite time of the day. I am usually in need of something brainless to unwind after changing diapers and wiping noses. There are really a lot of funny shows out there that I would not get to enjoy if it wasn't for HULU. So thank you Boniva and Uvaring for paying for advertisement space so that I can get the best medicine of all laughter.

Emma

Yesterday was my beautiful neice Emmas's seventh birthday. Sorry I didn't post this yesterday girl, but I was travelng. I hope you had a great birthday. I would like to say how thankful I am to have you in our life. You are such a sweet little girl. Thanks for being a big help to your mommy and daddy. Thanks for trying so hard to learn your lessons for school. I know how much you love being able to read to your siblings. Your mom and Uncle Isaiah used to love for me to read to them to when I was your age. Keep up the good work. We miss you so much especially all your questions. You are beautiful and smart and sweet and kind, pretty much the whole package.

Three Boys in a Row

I am thankful for hand-me down clothes that are made sturdy enough to last through three very busy boys. I always get so stressed out at season changes, cause I start thinking of all the new clothes I am going to have to buy for the kids. But then I dive into my storage trunks and usually find that I have saved plenty of clothes for Caleb and Joshua at least, sometimes I have some hand me downs in there for Benny too. Every year I hate having to reorganize all the clothes and sort through everything, but it pays off in the end when I budget how much we spent on clothes. And it is really cute to see each kid in some of my favorite outfits. Most the time the ones I thought were cute on Benny aren't the same ones I like on Caleb or Joshua. They each have their little personalities that match certain things they wear. I never really wanted a girl. Not because I don't ever want one or I don't like girls or what ever. I have just always wanted my babies to be boys and maybe this is the reason cause I am grateful that I don't have to buy clothes for two different sexes each year. Just another way I can keep our student loans under a quarter of a mill. hehehe ohh wait. I know that sounds like a lot but that is stretched over nine years. Most med students acquire that over the four years of med school alone. So if you look at it comparatively I think I am a pretty good saver...right...right:(.

Fort Hood

Well yesterday was super busy, so I will have to post two things today. I am thankful for after Halloween clearance sales. We made out on dress-up super hero costumes, four for twenty, and some to put away for Christmas.
I am thankful for our medical response teams. Yesterday was a very scary day. I have been hearing about shootings all over the place for a few years now, but yesterday it was way too close to home. We live ten minutes from Fort Hood where a man killed 12 people and wounded thirty-one others. The hospital where Chris goes to school was on lock-down since that is where they took some of the victims. A man in our ward that Chris home teaches worked in the same building as the shooting. Miraculously he was sitting in his car having lunch when it happened and was protected from the violence.I know the lord was there that afternoon. I am so grateful that people there were prepared and quick to response. It could have been a lot worse, if there had been panic. Gives me confidence in our soldier and emergency response training. Keep praying for the families of these victims. The holidays are going to be difficult for their families and friends.

I am thankful for beautiful days at the park

After days of rain it has been really nice here and we are finally getting in some use of our park right down the road and others near by. Thank you city of Temple for the parks especially the giant rocket ship that Benny plays so many imaginary games on.

I am thankful for friends, who send encouraging words just when you need them. Sorry these were just a few friends. I didn't have pictures of everyone. And if you dislike your pic, guess you better send a knew one.

Day 2

I am thankful for medicine and doctors who care about even the smallest patients. Joshua was absolutely miserable this last week. Thank you amoxicillan for making him my happy little chub again. Also, Lucy was moaning like a banchee and limping around the other morning. I mean the moaning was so loud and steady I thought her insides must be rotting or something. Chris and I thought she was on her death bed, so we took her to the vet. Well, thankfully it was JUST A BUG BITE between her toes. WHAT A WEENIE. Yeah, she is a lab, but for now on she is my weenie dog. The vet gave her some benadryl and she was back to her normal crazy self. Thank you Vets for helping my poor weenie dog.
