Kids Say the Darndest Things

I have been working on this post for quit awhile now and I think I finally remembered most of the funny things I wanted to record. It seems everyday Benny comes up with some new idea. He is definitely a thinker. So here are some thoughts from the mind of a three year old.

Benny started crying about something really dumb.
Chris:(while circling his face with his finger) You see this. This is me not caring.
Benny:(Also circling his face with his finger) You see this. This is me caring.

Benny had his first talk in Primary but when he got up he wouldn't say anything so Chris stood next to him and gave a little scripture story. When they were done Benny started crying and Chris had to take him out. Benny said I want to give my talk and Chris explained that he had his chance and now his turn was over. He would have to wait till it was his turn again. Benny looked concerned and said, "That doesn't make any sense."

I sent Benny to his room for disobeying. He came back down the stairs a few minutes later and said, "Mommy you are not being very nice and that makes me and Jesus and Heavenly Father very sad."

Benny: "Uncle Isaiah made Jesus and Heavenly Father sad because he took my Frisbee away because I was hitting people in the face."

Benny: "Mommy I think you are so so so beautiful, even without makeup."

Daddy and Benny were doing there bed time ritual and since he got to redo his talk today and they talked about baptism they were discussing it tonight. Chris told him that when you get baptized all of your sins wash away and Benny said, " but I need my sins" and Chris said "But you need to wash away your sins so you can go to heaven", and Benny replied, "But I don't want to go to heaven I want to go to Texas".

Also I wasn't able to go for Benny's talk because Caleb was sick. So before church I told Benny that I was sad because I really wanted to hear his talk so I needed him to talk really loud so I could hear him all the way here. When he got home I asked him if he did a good job and said his talk and he said, "yep and I talked really loud so you could hear me all the way home and I could hear you listening."

I asked Benny to stop growing bigger and he said "But I need to grow bigger so I can be baptized and build campfires and drive cars."

The other Day Benny said "Mommy when I get big like Daddy I can marry you too". I said "well you can't marry me cause I am already married to Daddy. You will have to find another lady to Marry." He replied "Well maybe I can marry Tia". Tia thats gotta make you feel special when a kid puts you right up there with his Mommy.

When ever it is sunny outside, Benny says, "Mommy it's a happy day we can play outside". It always makes me think of that old Gospel song. Oh Happy Day!

He woke up in the middle of the night and his eyes were sealed shut with goop from his cold and I heard him crying in the bathroom. I said "Benny whats wrong". He said " My eyes aren't working anymore". It was the saddest little voice ever. I got a warm rag and cleaned off hie eyes and with more gratitude than I have ever heard he said "Oh thank you Mommy".

Hope you guys enjoyed. I am certainly enjoying having a little conversation throughout the day. He is such a sweet big brother and loves to help me cook and clean. I can't wait to hear what kinds of conversations him and Caleb will have.
