Angels on Earth

Wow what an awesome conference this weekend. First I would like to offer much praise and gratitude to my neighbor Seralina for watching my children so me and Chris could attend a session of conference. This was our last conference here in Utah and we have never been able to attend a live session so we really wanted to go since who knows when we will be back in Utah. After many phone calls searching for someone who was willing to sacrifice there peace and quit my neighbor gladly said she would. She is a single mom raising to kids on her own and I know that she probably would have really enjoyed the peaceful sunday afternoon, but she took my kids with a smile. I am really going to miss her as a neighbor. She is almost always willing to bend over backwards to help someone. Chris and I didn't have tickets but we went up early and waited in the standby line and asked around. We were able to find two tickets and got to enjoy the sunday afternoon session from the upper terrace. What an experience. The choir is so amazing live. I have always enjoyed listening to them, but wow how much better it is in person. And what an ending to end with "Till We meet again". I hope everyone out there with kids will some day find there Angel On Earth and have a chance to go to a live session. Oh and the protesters were pretty cool too. The news made it look like there was this big crowed but really I only saw like ten and they were hilarious. Especially the one dressed as a Devil shaking the lightning can. I thought people were excellent examples by just ignoring them and going on there way. Plus most of the stuff they shouted was silly and very misinformed. I can't really pick a favorite talk but there were definitely some who stood out and were just what I needed to hear. The first one to stand out was Elder Hales talk in the Saturday morning session. I told Chris that we really needed to watch all of conference cause I knew someone was going to speak straight to us. we have been so stressed lately trying to figure out where we are going to find the money to make it through med school. Elder Hales spoke on keeping a family budget and overcoming our unnecessary wants. He also talked about having Faith that the lord will be there. Also President Eyring's talk about not letting fear and doubt weaken your faith really helped. Sometimes we just want to get angry and blame others for our troubles, but we need to stand on our own two feet and again have faith the lord will provide a away. I loved Presidents Monsons overall push for faith and overcoming weakness'. Dallin Oaks reminded us to work hard on missionary work, something that me and Chris hope to be able to do in Temple for the next four years. Overall a very fulfilling weekend.

Great post and really great neighbor. Hey you should make a list of things you want to do before you leave Utah, post it on your blog and then updates us all as you complete them! What are moving plans? Do you have any yet?
